Prerequisites & eligibility
Physicians only: unrestricted US/Canadian medical licence plus an ACGME-accredited HALM fellowship, or the practice pathway (open through the 2030 cycle): 24 months within the prior 7 years with at least 50% time in high-impact administrative leadership (ACHE/AAPL certification can credit up to 12 months).
Renewal & maintenance
Valid for 3 years. Renew by exam.
Maintain via ABPM Continuing Certification Program (CCP).
Recognition
ABMS-member-board physician subspecialty certification in health system administration and leadership (sibling of ABPM Clinical Informatics).
