CIPD qualifications are delivered by approved centres (price set by provider, typically GBP 2k–8k); passing a qualification gives eligibility for a membership grade (Foundation/Associate). Chartered Member/Fellow are membership grades, reached by upgrading from Level 7 or via CIPD Experience Assessment, not by a separate exam.

Valid for 1 year. Renew by cpd.
Membership grade is kept by paying the annual CIPD subscription and committing to continuing professional development (CPD) under the CIPD Code of Conduct; the qualification itself does not expire
